OMS has supported hiring practices for many of our departments and programs over a 20 year period. During that time they have helped us to improve our hiring practices with competency modeling, assessment and interview design, as well as structured interview training. GenEQ, that is the Gender Equity Initiative at the University of Guelph, commissioned Organizational and Management Solutions (OMS) to help create a Leadership Framework for the University that would be inclusive of leaders of all genders. We relied on the exceptional skills of OMS consultants to conduct key tasks in the development of the framework: interviews with leaders across the University, qualitative content analyses to identify and define the leadership competencies, and focus groups with students, staff, managers, and faculty to refine the competencies, and gather behavioural examples. Throughout the project, I was greatly pleased with the OMS consultants’ ready communication, professionalism, and the timeliness of their work.
